Course Overview

After the child has done Active readers course they can progress to Active advance where they will learn more phonic rules and sounds which will make them even more confident of their reading and writing abilities. They will be able to read upto 10 letter words and write them confidently with correct spellings.

In the Active Advance course in Phonics, your child will build on their existing reading skills with a focus on mastering more complex phonics concepts. This course is designed exclusively for kids who have completed our Active Readers course. Here’s what they will learn: - Bossy 'r': Understanding how 'r' changes the sound of vowels. - wh and ph: Learning the unique sounds of 'wh' and 'ph'. - /ear/ and /air/: Recognizing and using the sounds 'ear' and 'air'. - Different ways to write the /j/ sound: Exploring 'ge' and 'dge' to represent the /j/ sound. - Alternate Sounds: Discovering various ways to spell different sounds. - Hard and Soft 'c': Distinguishing between the hard and soft sounds of 'c'. - Hard and Soft 'g': Identifying when 'g' sounds hard or soft. - /au/ and /aw/: Pronouncing and using the /au/ and /aw/ sounds. - Sight Words Help: Enhancing recognition and usage of common sight words. This course aims to strengthen your child’s phonics foundation, making them more confident and fluent readers.
